In 2020 we had the opportunity to design a commercial building in Bogor, Indonesia, Tanmu Coffee Bogor. The challenges when designing this cafe encouraged us to optimize the design, without damaging natural sustainability.

Tanmu is a coffee shop located in the middle of the city of Bogor which is crowded with tourists and tourists both from Bogor and from outside Bogor. The Tanmu design process requires careful consideration, because any existing vegetation is maintained to provide coolness in the middle of the city. Do you know Komorebi? komorebi is sunlight refracted in the leaf gaps. The komorebi concept is the main concept for the design of the tanmu. Many trees refract light so that the
Komorebi appears.

The visuals of the komorebi are not only created from the light that penetrates the leaves, but are explicitly poured into illustrations on the walls of the Tanmu bar. The form of this komorebi is also the essence of Tanmu’s business.
