Rumah Kipas Angin is a heartfelt renovation project of a family home in Depok—one that had long served its residents, and was now ready for a transformation to meet their evolving lifestyle.

The design process began by understanding the family’s daily rhythms: a need for more bedrooms, a smooth circulation, and a sense of privacy, especially for family members who observe hijab. We approached the layout with both function and respect, reconfiguring spaces to support family gatherings while still creating pockets of solitude.

The new layout introduces clear zones for public, semi-private, and private use. The facade and openings were also adjusted to soften visibility from outside, without sacrificing daylight or ventilation—achieving a balance between openness and protection.

This renovation wasn’t just about making a house work better—it was about honoring the lifestyle, values, and memories that make it a home.
